The Top 10 List is one of my favourite tools for connecting with prospective clients.
Readers love them because:
- Top 10 lists are familiar and they know what to expect right off the bat.
- Top 10 lists break information down into digestible chunks that are easy to absorb.
- They're easy to skim. People are busy!
Writers love them because:
- Readers love them, so there's a better chance they'll get to the bottom and see your contact information and special offer.
- Top 10 lists provide an instant structure for generating article or topic ideas.
- You can build on them e.g. a Top 10 list can be expanded into 10 new articles on each topic, or can provide foundational material for countless other projects such as speeches, workshops, coaching programs, classes or books.
- They're a no-pressure, subtle way to demonstrate your expertise.
